A Home With Meaning

The House of George is a deeply personal project, created as a more meaningful alternative to traditional assisted living.

At its heart is the House of George, Nicholas’s childhood home, named in honour of his father. A space shaped by memory, family, and a lasting sense of belonging.

George had a deep love for Namaqualand and its seasonal wildflowers. That influence lives on within the home today, with each room named after a flower, Daisy, Babiana, and Lilly.

Rather than creating something new, the vision was to preserve what already existed, a home filled with warmth, familiarity, and meaning, and to extend that experience to others.

Why Oaktree Was Created

Oaktree was created to offer something more personal and considered.

A home, not a system, where life continues in a familiar and comfortable way.

Our Approach to Care

A thoughtful, personalised approach shaped around each individual, their needs, and their pace of living.

DIGNITY IN EVERY STAGE OF LIFE

An approach grounded in respect, where each individual is seen and valued for who they are.

INDEPENDENCE WHERE POSSIBLE

Encouraging autonomy and choice, allowing residents to live with a continued sense of self.

CONSIDERED, INTENTIONAL CARE

Care that is thoughtful and measured, shaped around the individual rather than routine.

A SENSE OF BELONGING

A space where familiarity, continuity, and connection are naturally part of everyday life.

People Who Make It Possible

At Oaktree, our team forms part of daily life within the home, not just occasional support. With caregivers, nurses, therapists, and wellness practitioners working closely together, residents receive consistent, thoughtful care in a familiar and comfortable environment.

A Note from Melissa & Nicholas

We’re Melissa and Nicholas, the founders of Oaktree Family & Wellness Centre.

Oaktree was created with a clear intention, to offer a more considered and personal way of living, where each resident feels settled, supported, and at ease in their surroundings.

Our focus is on creating an environment that feels calm and steady, where routines are familiar, and where people are genuinely known and cared for each day.

What matters most to us is the feeling within the home, the consistency, the attention, and the sense of ease that allows both residents and their families to feel reassured.

Oaktree is, above all, a place we would want for our own family, and that is what guides everything we do.

The Team Behind the Care
